COAST TO COAST – OVERTURES AND BEGINNERS

COAST TO COAST – OVERTURES AND BEGINNERS

Coast to Coast: Overture and Beginners was released in 1974 and recorded live in Anaheim and Los Angeles on the 17th and 19th October 1973.  The album is credited to Rod Stewart/Faces as Rod Stewart did not perform concerts under his name at the time, only performing concerts as a member of the Faces.

The album only contains three numbers by the Faces, ‘Too Bad’, ‘Stay With Me’ and ‘Borstal Boys’, whilst featuring six Rod Stewart solo tracks and two previously unheard cover versions – ‘I Wish It Would Rain’, first made famous by The Temptations, and John Lennon’s ‘Jealous Guy’.

The performance was notable for featuring Ronnie Lane’s replacement, Tetsu Yamauchi, on bass.
